Dear Sir

Application for Associate Membership of SCAR

Further to advance notice given at XXVII SCAR Delegates Meeting in Shanghai, China, 22-26 July 2002, I enclose a copy of the Application for Associate Membership of SCAR received from the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (Akademi Sains Malaysia). At the XXVIII SCAR Delegates Meeting in Bremerhaven, Germany, 5-9 October 2004, the representative from Malaysia will be asked to present the application.

Delegates will then decide whether to admit Malaysia to Associate Membership of SCAR.


The Application fulfils the requirement to be submitted 6 months in advance of the SCAR Delegates Meeting at which it will be considered.
If National Committees wish to raise any queries concerning the application prior to XXVIII SCAR, they should write to Datuk Dr Salleh Mohd Nor at the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (see address below); queries should not be sent to the SCAR Secretariat.
