Dear Sir

Application for Full Membership of SCAR: Switzerland

I enclose an application from Switzerland to transfer from Associate membership to Full Membership of SCAR.

The application comprises a letter from Professor Dr Bruno Gottstein and a five page statement of the Swiss Antarctic research programme, past, present and future.

National Committees are asked to consider the application that will be an agenda item at the XXVIII SCAR Delegates Meeting in Bremerhaven during October 2004 when the Delegates will decide whether or not to admit Switzerland as a Full Member of SCAR.
