Finally, SCAR is attempting to reinvigorate our partnership with COMNAP. The SCAR ATCM Team met with COMNAP administration at the XXXII ATCM in April 2009. To this end, we will make two presentations at the upcoming COMNAP meetings in Punta Arenas in August of this year - one on Future Directions in Antarctic Science and one on cooperation on King George Island. Click on the links to view copies of the reports provided to COMNAP that support these presentations. As always any comments, concerns, issues or ideas are welcomed as you review these two important documents. It would be extremely useful if you discuss these papers and the concepts presented with your National Program Operators prior to the COMNAP meeting. Any feedback would assist the SCAR team in preparing for Punta Arenas.
I am sure I am forgetting a number of other important items but this will keep you busy for now! As always do not hesitate to contact me for any reason. I hope to see each of you soon somewhere around the world!
Chuck K.
President of SCAR
