A new host for the APECS Directorate has been found: The Arctic University of Norway (UiT) in Tromsø in partnership with the Norwegian Polar Institute (NPI) and the High North Research Centre for Climate and the Environment (FRAM) will be hosting the APECS Directorate for the coming 5 years, from the beginning of 2022 until the end of 2026!
In January 2022, the 5-year hosting agreement with the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Germany is coming to an end. It has been a fruitful collaboration with amazing support and new initiatives on national and global level. As a result, APECS’ increasing involvement in several EU projects allowed us to establish greater office capacity and training opportunities for early career researchers. In fact, funding from ongoing projects of ARICE, INTERACT, and Arctic PASSION will allow APECS to keep an APECS International Office at AWI in Potsdam until June 2025 when the newest EU project, Arctic PASSION is ending.
