The workshop aims to gather the international community of polar educators together with scientists in an intensive 4-day workshop to share the best research and education practices in the field of polar science. This unique conference provides the opportunity for face-to-face collaboration among key players in polar research, communication and education communities.
The outcome of the conference will be a statement to the endeavors of increasing awareness and interest in polar science knowledge and career pathways through a growing PEI membership; to inform and inspire a future generation of polar researchers and educators.
The program is made of keynote speeches of scientists and educators, as well as oral, poster and hands-on sessions. The objective is to spread first-hand polar scientific and education experiences to science teachers in order to allow them to bring it directly to their classrooms. Side events includes a polar dinner, a polar fun-run, a field trip with scientific guides and events organized by polar Italian and German high school students.
