Information about the 2019 SCAR Executive Committee Meeting

The 2019 SCAR Executive Committee Meeting will be held on 30-31 July in the Grand Hotel Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in conjunction with the COMNAP Annual General Meeting. The SCAR ExCom Meeting is preceeded by a one-day workshop of the Programme Planning Groups (PPGs). Accommodation is also at the meeting venue:

COMNAP AGM

For security reasons, all SCAR meeting attendees need to register with COMNAP after arrival. The registration desk will be open from 10:00 to 17:00 on Sunday 28 July, and each morning between 08:00 and 08:30. During the meetings, all coffee and lunch breaks will be taken with the COMNAP delegates. SCAR attendees are included in the COMNAP Icebreaker Reception (19:00 to 21:30 on 28 July) and the AGM Conference Dinner (19:00 until late). Buses will be provided by COMNAP to and from the Conference Dinner. Please note that, while there is no dress code for the SCAR meetings, you will need to be smartly dressed for the COMNAP social events.

SCAR Dinner

On 31 July, SCAR will host a dinner for all attendees still in Plovdiv. A table has been reserved from 20:00 at Restaurant Hebros, ul. "Konstantin Stoilov", Plovdiv, a 15-minute walk from the Grand Hotel (see Google Maps for directions). Information about the restaurant can be found on their Tripadvisor and Facebook pages.

Taxis

The internet is full of warnings about unscrupulous Bulgarian taxi drivers so you should book any taxi rides in advance with reputable companies, or ask at hotel reception. Transfers to and from Sofia Airport have been confirmed with Unitrans, who are based in Plovdiv:
