Getting your biological data clean and ready for analysis is important. It can seem like something very complicated, but it doesn’t need to be. Often simple tips and tricks can get you a long way.
Having your data in a clean and shareable format allows you to collaborate more efficiently with others and get better and more valuable results.

With our data laundry week we are there to help you clean your research data in a format that allows you to make it easily discoverable on the SCAR Antarctic Biodiversity Portal (as well as the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF)).

From 4th to 8th May 2020 we will dedicate our time to cleaning out datasets that we’ve received for publication on the Antarctic Biodiversity Portal and we want to give you the opportunity to join in as well to help you clean your data.

How does it work?
5 easy steps

1.     Join our Slack Channel.

2.     Introduce yourself on slack in the #welcome channel

3.     Explain your question, issues in the #data-laundry channel

5.     We can all chat online via Slack, and you can also join one of our live discussion sessions in our virtual office 4-8 May 2020 (details will be provided in the slack channel)
