During the XXXVI SCAR Delegates Meeting held virtually in March 2021, Turkey and the Czech Republic have been formally recognised as Full Members of SCAR.
Mexico joined SCAR as an Associate Member.

SCAR now includes 45 member countries (comprising of 34 full and 11 associate members) and 9 ISC unions. SCAR strives to include new members, as countries not yet engaged develop an increasing interest in Antarctic science.
