Ant icon EMCR Steering Committee RT1

Research Theme 1 of Ant-ICON is looking to recruit a Early-to-Mid-Career-Researcher (EMCR) to join the Steering Committee. The EMCR should ideally have a background broadly in biodiversity research, with a focus relevant to one or more of the key questions outlined in the Ant-ICON Science and Implementation plan. As the Theme 1 EMCR, you would work with the Research Theme 1 leads to engage the Ant-ICON community on Research Theme 1 related topics (collaboration opportunities, designing workshops and seminars), as well as the wider Steering Committee to help carry out Ant-ICON’s mandate. The Steering Committee has monthly meetings, and communicates weekly via email and Slack. The Research Theme 1 team may also meet monthly as well depending on their ongoing activities.

If you are interested in applying for this role, please send a short (max 200 words) statement of interest and your CV to [email protected] by June 13 23:59 UTC. We are looking for team players who are interested in taking a more active role in shaping the future of a SCAR research program. Applicants will be selected based on their enthusiasm, the relevance of their research profile to Theme 1, and their ability to engage actively in Ant-ICON and Theme 1 activities. Consideration will be given to gender and geographic representation. EMCR are considered to be students (e.g. Master’s, PhD), or postdoctoral researchers and junior faculty within 10 years of having acquired their PhD (not including career breaks).

If you have any questions about the role of Theme 1 EMCR, eligibility, the application process, or the selection process, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at [email protected].
