Daniela Cajiao obtained a Master’s degree in Environmental Management at the San Francisco de Quito University in 2010. She has been involved in conservation and sustainable tourism planning within protected areas, particularly in the Galapagos Archipelago and in other coastal and marine protected areas. Her main Antarctic research interests revolve around tourism management and planning, monitoring and decision-making processes related to tourism and non-governmental activities in Antarctica. Since 2011, Daniela has been participating as a field researcher in Antarctica. She is now working on a PhD research project at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where her research looks at Antarctic tourism management and the social dimensions of Antarctic tourism.
