Elçin Doruk received her BA in Political Science and International Relations from Marmara University, MA in European Studies from Izmir University of Economics and PhD in International Relations from Ege University. Her award-winning doctoral thesis focuses on governing of global commons, Antarctica in particular. Currently she is a research assistant in the Department of Economics at Yasar University and her research mainly focuses on Polar Studies in general; particularly Antarctic affairs, environmental conservation, international law and border management.
