Katherine Sinclair is a doctoral candidate in the Department of History at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. She is currently working on a dissertation with the tentative title “Regimes of High Fantasy: Experiments in Sovereignty on the Kerguelen Islands since 1893,” which focuses on the history of French sovereignty claims and development on the subantarctic Keguelen archipelago. She also has an M.A. in History and Literature from Columbia University and a Masters de recherche in contemporary European history from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
