Yliana Rodriguez holds an undergraduate degree is Linguistics from Universidad de la República (Uruguay), where she was also awarded an MA in Human Sciences for which she focused on South American language contact. At present (2020), she is a PhD researcher at Leiden University Centre for Linguistics and in the Faculty of Humanities of Universidad de la República, where she is part of the Observatory of human territorialities, an interdisciplinary group that looks into territorial phenomena from different perspectives. Yliana is curious about other linguists or anthropologists working on similar topics in the Antarctic.
